The laser stops working after some time, in either AUTO or MAN mode. Is this simulating laser burning out?

There will be no flashing laser symbol in the targeting pod, and laser guided weapons will not track.

Unknown as other DCS modules are similarly effected.

Without knowing how much use you've made of the laser it's hard to know if it's a bug or a DCS limitation.

Laser burnout is modelled in DCS, AFAIK it was originally designed for the Ka-50, Su-25T, etc., but seems "hard coded", accumulative and to effect third party modules i.e. when acting as JTAC and ON/OFF lasing for other players for 1-2 hours.

IIRC the only "fix" for a burn't out laser (in other modules) is to spawn in a new aircraft.

Yeah had it also using the laser guided rockets it just stopped working. But it did it fairly soon. Like its burning out very quickly.

Yes I have experienced the same. In Auto mode laser should not burn up as it turns on as per requirement and then turns off.

More testing is required to see whether its a bug or its normal.

See this bug report ...

I was playing with a friend in multiplayer and we noticed that my laser was still on even after I stopped lasing

... then I shut down the pod and the laser was still there

... then I cut the power to the pod and the laser was still visible.

My friend could thus see my exact position with NVG which made me the opposite of stealth
