Wondering if there was something I could do about the problem I'm having with the Harriers

MPCDs? After updating to 2.5.6, I used the Harrier and the coloring on the EHSD page was really bad. The compass rose, luber line and aircraft cross are completely color washed or something. I can't see them at all from normal position, even when I zoom in it's really difficult Was hoping I could deepen the color a little bit via the .lua. I attached a pic of both day and night setting selected, little difference. thanx

Those would be known as the symbology. They are actually an overlay over the map. The upper right corner SYM switched should adjust their brightness -- should, but they don't function.

The same issue is currently plaguing the Hornet. In fact I read that only the A-10C has functioning adjustments for the symbology brightness, and maybe the JF-11.

Maybe someday before I die of old age. I guess it's a race *haha* ... *sigh*

On the Harrier the "Brightness Knob", as it is now, controls the brightness of the "Symbology" layer. It does nothing for the "Map" or the display as a whole.

This is an issue for a "Night Attack" plane.

Oh, well I just updated to 2.5.6 and I like the new lighting when it comes to a night time environment, but. It definitely blew out the lighting inside the modules, and made some contrasting problems. Well, thanks for the help ya'll.

As much as an issue that 2.5.6 is. All the mcpd issues are not sole related to the patch. Issue is MCPD adjustments are not coded nor implimented and really need to be addressed by razbam. Same with contrast and gain on the TPOD. It's just highlighting more so now that these system features were never added like they should have been

Yeah, I gotchya. I should've said that not having those adjustments after the upgraded lighting is a little bit of an issue, will be nice once they're functional.

Does it mean that we could make those symbols as black by setting their brightness to zero? Or do they simply go to dim grey that you still can't read over the map?

I can't understand any of these other modules than A-10C, that offers the black background for all symbols so you actually can read them.

But with these others they are like unreadable - complete user usability nightmare by design so pilots can't read well in quick situations at any given time of day.
