ChuckIV Posted March 11, 2020 Posted March 11, 2020 (edited) Using STABLE version. Been a DCS customer for 5 years now. After a REPAIR and CLEAN today to try fixing a 3-monitor issue, I noticed my elevator and rudder trims no longer work. Everything else seems to work fine. They show as working in the adjust controls section as well as in flight (trim wheels rotate in cockpit). They also show the trim tabs moving on the elevators and rudder in chase view. However, they do not effect the actual aircraft in any way. I'm stuck in a state of too much up-trim. The plane climbs continuously. This happens to both my Spitfire and Mustang by the way. Anyone have this ever happen to them??? If so, what was the fix?? I await your replies, and thanks!! ChuckIV Posted March 11, 2020 Author Posted March 11, 2020 Still No Luck w/Trims Tried uninstalling my Desktop Aviator trim wheels and reinstalling them on the computer. Tried clearing the adjust controls settings for the trim wheels and reassigning them. Tried mapping different keys to the elevator and rudder trims - did not work - trim wheels in cockpit do turn - but no effect. Tried to reinstall Spitfire and Mustang modules - did not work. Mustang aileron trims don't work either. Everything works EXCEPT trims. Any ideas anyone??? "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few." Art-J Posted March 13, 2020 Posted March 13, 2020 When last time I had exactly same thing happening (and many other guys too), two years ago or so, the culprit was having any FFB controller device plugged to the computer, even if this device was not assigned to trimming function in any aircraft. The bug was quickly confirmed and fixed back then, but maybe it's here again. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10.
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 13, 2020 ED Team Posted March 13, 2020 Hi Can you attach a short track replay showing this happen and your dcs log We will look for clues and investigate, It does seem to be working fine for me. My advice would be to start with fresh control bindings and test again go to C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\SpitfireLFMkIX rename the aircraft folder, for example C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\Config\Input\SpitfireLFMkIXbackup restart dcs and map new controls and test. let us know how you get on thanks Forum rules - DCS Crashing? ChuckIV Posted March 15, 2020 Author Posted March 15, 2020 BIGNEWY Get a load of this, it was all caused by reloading DCS stable version. Reloading all my modules. Then NOT realizing that I was stuck in GAME FLIGHT MODE !!! That's all it was. Unclick this little box, and all trims work fine. Good one to remember.
