Florida Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 I've been playing on the DCS World without servers for a long time and didn't want to make a complete idiot out of myself until I knew somewhat how to fly everything without witnesses. But, alas, I finally ventured into the server territory to try it out. I have tried two different servers now, and for some strange reason, the controls I have painstakingly bound to my X-56 disappear when I get into my P-51 on-line. There is a strange "banging" which I think is my control surfaces going crazy, and nothing else works. Moving the throttle on my X-56 moves the stick, and it just goes south from there. I go offline, and all of my controls work fine. WTF? And SRS isn't working, either. I've got the latest version, and the IP (or other) address is correct for the server I'm on. But as soon as I get into my plane, the freqs disappear, and nothing works. Any ideas out there? -= Gary =- a.k.a. ricktoberfest Posted March 15, 2020 Posted March 15, 2020 As far as the plane goes, there are 2 p51 now. Each version has its own controls. You probably set up the other one.

For simple radio, you see the frequency goes away from overlay because it's taking the one from the airplane. SO you need to start up the airplane and turn on and set the frequency directly inside the airplane, I suppose. I don't fly P-51 so i'm not sure, but it's normal behavior with all other airplane that I fly. Far as I knew, the only two were the trainer and the D model. Don't think the trainer would be up there. Is there another model? I tried to set the freqs for the mission on SRS before I clicked on FLY, and as soon as I did, the freqs were all deleted. Add: Okay! Found the radio functions. Only one radio in the Mustang, and the buttons are preset by the mission. At last! And it seems that joining the server this morning, the controls worked, too. I think I've got a handle on this! DCS counts those two versions as completely different planes, even though they are almost identical except for a certain antenna and radio

I see both types on the server, so where does the other one come from? -= Gary =- a.k.a.
