Since booting my PC my Warthog Throttle's and Slider axis behave weird. Before that (this afternoon), the throttle worked just fine.

Throttle (both): give zero value until fully moved forward, then the value jumps directly to max value (65535).

Slider axis: give max value (65535) from DECR to middle and then jumps to 0 the moment it goes over the middle point all the way to INCR.

Things tried:

- Removed throttle and connected again.

- Used other USB port

- Removed drivers, rebooted and re-installed.

- Re-calibration

All with no effect.

For the rest, everything works fine, every button works, i can run a TARGET script and everything is also fine then button wise. Just the axis give either 0 or 65535 as value.

Any idea's are welcome.

Little update:

If i use some sort of tool where i view the value's of the both throttle axis and the slider axis, it's not from 0 to 65535 suddenly but for the throttles, the value's go from 0 to 65355 on the last 2 mm of travel or so.

For the Slider axis is just past the middle point. It's from DECR to middle 65535 and then from middle to +/- 2mm forward to INCR from 65535 to 0 and from there it stays zero until full forward.

Weird it happens with al these 3 axis at the same time. Circuitboard borked?

Might want to open it up and check for something like a broken ground wire or other frayed wires.

Have you ensured that no other devices are bound to that same axis in the settings?

No, i have to check that but i didn't open DCS the last couple of days.

I guess it happend though after changing some settings in Elite Dangerous, changing the fire buttons to DX. When i pressed the triggers, the Z-axis of the Throttle roared it's head to although i didn't touch those. This happend on both triggers (TG1 and S4). I canceled on both the occations and on retry it took only the triggers into account. At that time i was not aware of the throttle axis problem yet. It only showed up when i took a space craft out for a little test run that i noticed that the throttle axis behaved weird. Afterwarts i thought that because of the sudden difference in axis value, Elite Dangerous registered this as the axis being moved.

Also, if i don't have a sim running, the axis are not bound to another setting so for the moment i rule that out. And because the Slider axis has the same problem.

Will check on that later, didn't had the time anymore yesterday to do this.

I didn't move the throttle base but i did play around with the friction setting and this didn't behaved like i think it would. Didn't make the link with the axis problem though. Maybe a wire got stuck there somewhere. It's a refurbished Warthog so it might be possible. Have to open it up to see.

Solved:

Got in touch with Guillemot (Thrustmaster) support who did send me the latest calibration tool for the throttle. This came with a calibration text file that i did not have (but i did had the same calibration tool). After using the calibration tool once, all is working well again, both throttles and slider have full range now.

Just one thing left open... how does it loose it's calibration all of a sudden?

Nope, i even had to Google my way towards the place to find the Windows Calibration Tool in the first place.
