SM9828 Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 A-A not locking in the 16. The target was a red triangle F-15 and not matter how many times I pushed TMS up it wouldn’t lock.
Stinger Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 "Red triangle" means basically its a Datalink contact. Not a radar contact. You need to have him as a radar contact (white dot for example). So work with you radar until you get your data link contact as radar contact to
JuliMonkey Posted March 21, 2020 Posted March 21, 2020 It should roughly look like this. Just take that as an example I just drew those red triangles. Ka 50 - MIG 21 - FW 190 D9 - SU 27 - F15 - F 16
TheBigTatanka Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 The red triangle (hollow) is just a datalink fed piece of information. To target the contact yourself, you need to get a paint from your own radar. Most of the time the problem will be with the elevation strobe (El Strobe). Move your cursor to near the contact, and adjust your El Strobe to bracket the target's elevation (should be provided via datalink). Once you have the elevation bracketed, allow about 8 seconds for a 4 bar scan. The contact should populate as a white brick (just a digital indication that something is there), and you can target it with TMS forward. Good Luck. Dances, PhD Jet Hobo https://v65th.wordpress.com/
Oceandar Posted March 22, 2020 Posted March 22, 2020 And to get info of target altitude you can refer it on HSD page, little number above it. And welcome to the forum. Good luck. Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power. - Lao Tze
