More problems...

I've just done a new install with a separate lock on and FC cd (i.e not gold - I have both versions) and the coastline is seriously porked - it's all white and flickering. I've read about the problems with cload shadows but I don't think it could be that as I've had it installed (albeit with the lock on gold cd) on this pc before without any problems. Could it be a graphics setting issue?

I don't really see any problem other then low quality graphics. Have you checked your graphical settings in the game? Its probably set to low or medium or perhaps a custom setup with water effects=low.

In any case your flying relatively high so you should not expect crystal clear/high definition graphics at that altitude! By the way what are your system specs? A low end system might not be able to render high graphics even if that is what you choose.

I have 2x GT8800 :smilewink: (SLi disabled for LockOn). All GFX settings on high (more or less).

The coast was fine on an earlier install, so maybe it's a bad install...

It's not really the processor speed that makes or breaks a game rather ram and graphics card. 1gb ram and a 256mb graphics card are almost mandatory. Anything less and you will get choppy/low quality graphics no matter what your settings are.

If you recently installed the game give it about a week before deciding to reinstall it. Sometimes the game smoothes itself out by playing it again and again. If you don't notice any reasonable improvements start removing any mods you might have installed and play the game each time to see if that makes any difference. A lot of times mods do interfere with graphics and game performance.

As a last resort remove everything and reinstall in the proper order:

1)Lomac cd

2)FC cd

3)patch to 1.12a/b...be careful you select the right patch because there are several versions

P.S. I remember reading 'LOMAC gold' was defective and a lot of people returned the game for a refund or replacement!

If that is the color of your water texture, you definitely have a problem. I can't remember if you said you were running Vista or Xp. Makes a difference. I think a little more info and someone may key into your problem. Cheers.:joystick:
