If you are trying to locate a target directly from SPJ ranging, it could be a little tricky since you can not operate directly on the HSD.

Select a wpn with TOO mode(LS6/GB6/802 etc). Put AG RDR as your SOI, select MAP-RBM mode, depress TDC on gernal distance of the emmiter. With a TOO wpn, the SPI position is showed on HSD with a blue diamond, move your TDC and depress a better location to make the SPI close to the SPJ ranging result. That will do.

If you don't have a suitable wpn, just readout the gernal range of the emmiter, and depress TDC at that range on AG RDR, slave TGP to that SPI, VID the targets or missile smoke trails.

Ah OK. A little extra work but I think I can make it work. Thanks!

I was planning to take a/a load out, put SPI on SAMs and then move it over to mark points, RTB, return with LD10s and centerline fueltank and toss an Ld10s at those way points in active mode.

Will Ld10 trigger SAMs to go active since it's classed as a missile or will I have to stay in area and get those SAMs to stay active?

Best to act as an decoy while LD10 is still in the air. But DCS SAM is not that smart to switch on/off, their search radar is turned on most of the time.

Back to the OP question, why does the current SPI/waypoint only display on the HSD in NAV mode but not in AA/AG mode?

Like the earlier issue with the datalink not showing data on the HSI when in AG mode, is this simply a omission in the current modelling of the avionics?

If it is the case with the actual JF17, it would be great to see the current SPI/WPT marked on the HSD in all modes, not just NAV.
