FoxTrotAlpha691 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 I have an issue where the parachute on the JF-17 does not deploy after I fly a sortie, land and rearm/refuel. It appears that the chute is repacked as the drag chute dome is closed however when returning for the second R/R the chute will not deploy. This happens on every mission of multiple sorties, is there something I am missing about rearming the drag chute?
shaHeen-1 Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 It might have to do with you not resetting your chute switch? Not sure.
AeriaGloria Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Check your pneumatic main gauge. AFAIK refuel/rearm does not replenish your air. The chute is pneumatic. I’ve been on a mission to find out what the pneumatics power. I think canopy also it makes a pneumo sound but can’t see much of a noticeable change on the gauge. Sometimes after landing it goes down to almost nothing and sometimes it stays at half after pulling the chute Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

Of course you have to wait the 170 seconds but if you want the chute its the price you'll have to pay.

Shiz Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 The chute switch has three, not two positions : deploy, cutoff and neutral. The default "P" button binded to keyboard can only switch between deploy and cutoff. To rearm the chute during standard rearming sequence you need to make sure the switch is in the neutral position.

Excellent, thank you for this response I will try it today and report back. Salute!
Tiger-II Posted April 29, 2020 Posted April 29, 2020 The 'P' key can move the switch to all positions. I think you need to re-arm only to re-pack the chute. I don't think fuel only will do it (different mechanism inside DCS). Obviously re-arming AND re-fueling will work. Awesome Find. Thanks for the great info !
