JRM Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Hi guys, Im having trouble configuring the datalink 16 in order to enable the friend and foes marks (green, red and blue) in the left mfd when I turn on the mids, i have checked that the gps is on, time, nstr on, and sync fine, i always like to go from cold start so it maybe something its missing or something i been doing wrong, if anyone can give me a step by step instructions ill be really grateful. PD: Just watched all dl16 videos on youtube but don't get any result.
ramjet77 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 (edited) If you cold start make sure the IFF switch is set to Norm. It is located on the Aux Comm panel on the aft left console. Do you have any friendly flights such as an AWACS in your mission? They designate contacts for you to see. You said you have the MIDS on. Double check the MIDS switch on the Avionics Power panel aft right just in case? Edited April 13, 2020 by ramjet77
Emmy Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 In order to see a friendly as "Blue" they have to be in the same flight as you. Individual friendlies will only show as Green. Even your wingman. USAF-Falcon87 Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 Also, (and you probably thought of this), you have to make sure to hit ENT for Lat, Long, and (I think) elevation in first two minutes of INS alignment. If you don’t, you’ll have datalink problems.
