Cy-27 Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 (edited) My monitor is 60 freshrate. So I just want to lock it at 60fps without screen tearing. However, with sync turned on, the fps just switch bettween 30 and 60, which gives me a feeling of stutter. My GPU is rx 5700, and I have to turn down my graphic settings to lock it at 60 fps, otherwise it may hit 30 fps. I have tried the enhance sync, but it works badly in DCS. AMD card do not support adaptive sync, while the Nvidia does. Many years ago there are two third-party software called Radeon Pro and D3DOverider support adaptive sync for AMD card, but they do not update in recent 5 years so they are both not functional now. I do not own a freesync monitor. Maybe I should buy a Nvidia card. I hate the AMD card, it is bad for DCS. Edited April 15, 2020 by Cy-27
xoxen Posted April 15, 2020 Posted April 15, 2020 Hi Cy-27, have you tried turn of vsync in the DCS settings page, then you have a smooth transition between 30 and 60 fps, e. g. you can reach 43 fps and they stay in that range. I bet your stuttering is getting better without vsync turned off. I hope this helps. Cy-27 Posted April 16, 2020 Author Posted April 16, 2020 Probably been suggested already but have you tried pressing Left Alt + Enter while playing? I just play DCS with full screen. Actually I never press LAlt+Enter.
