Hi everyone! I've been flying the A-10C for a while now and I noticed that upon parking and shutting down the whole aircraft, I noticed that the leading edge slats are extended. Is there any key to retract those slats prior to shutdown? I am looking at my AI wingman and his slats are retracted.

Loss of AC or DC power causes the hydraulic system to extend the slats for fail-safe operation. When the engines are shut down, they may or may not extend as well.

When engines shutdown slats may or may not extend. The control valve defaults to the extend hydraulic position when electrical power is removed. However when shutting down there's also less hydraulic pressure. Looks like it's a tug of war between the system wanting to extend with its decreasing hydraulic pressure and maybe not succeeding.

You could watch some videos of real planes to see what they do. The AI system model isn't as detailed.
