More than a year ago the GBU-24B and 32 were teased in a Hornet Mini-Update, showing off the new models.

Since then there hasn't been any mention of those. Can we see these weappons relatively soon as especially the GBU-24A/B would benefit a lot of other modules such as the F-14, F-16 and Mirage?

According to Kate they are going to provide with a roadmap for both the hornet and viper. The GBU-24 and 32 are comming but later during EA

I get that and I doubt that's going to happen considering just how much work is still needed. My question is though, why add SLAM, SLAM ER before the GBU-24 and 32 or not even finish the currently useless Harpoon first? Seems like it's all kinda backwards

My take on this is: with addition of the SLAM, the Harpoon will also be fixed to working levels, and the whole Walleye - Harpoon - Datalink - SLAM cocktail will be ready to serve.

We already *have* working LGBs and JDAMs, so the GBU-24 and -32 will be nice additions in the end, but less interesting right now. My 0.02$

The GBU-24 especially is pretty different from the Paveway II's we have. Offers some interesting capabilities.

I know that, but it is reasonably similar to existing LGBs that this is my take on why the concentrated on D/L, AGM-62 and now the SLAM, first.

My guess is that ED is working on redoing the entire (or at least part of it) GBU guidance system (both LGB and JDAM) as a GBU-24 Paveway III has a completely different type of steering fins than a GBU-10/12/16.

Yes. And the Paveway II we currently have right now in DCS is alright for the most part as it uses a so called "bang-bang" type of guidence. The thing is, most aircraft in DCS would benefit from the GBU-24's and 32's being in game finally. For example the F-16, F-14, Mirage 2000 could use the 24 and the Harrier could use the 32, in turn adding new weapons to most aircraft across the board.

Agreed, I guess we will have to wait and see where they end up on the Hornet's development poll results, but I am not very hopeful it will become part of the top 15/20 list of priorities.
