BigHairyGobbler Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 I can enter ils freqs on the ground or in flight but once I hit a button in the center console to do something and later try to enter an old freq it doesn’t enter as ils and enters as comm freq. what button do I need to press to be able to enter Ils freq. If I hit 4 To go to ils it enters freq starting with a 4 for comm1 or comm2 for example. My guarantee: if my first two bombs don't destroy you, the next one's free F-16C | FC3 | Persian Gulf

Diesel_Thunder Posted April 18, 2020 Posted April 18, 2020 4? 4 on the IFC is for Steerpoint. You push button 1 (T-ILS) to go to the TACAN/ILS page. Dobber down until the ILS frequency on the DED is has the asterisks and then punch in the frequency and hit enter. After that you have to punch in the runway course under the ILS frequency. Make sure you're on the correct side of the DED, since the TACAN settings are on the left side of the DED on this page. Once you do that you'll have to use the MODE select button on the bottom of the HSI (low on the center panel) to selected the ILS mode. If your close to the field, you should hear the ILS Morse code. BigHairyGobbler Posted April 19, 2020 Author Posted April 19, 2020 Well now I know why I said "4" initially because when I hit "1" to go to ILS page it starts entering a comm1 or comm2 freq. Going to LIST then selecting "4" should take you to NAV but that's not set up yet. To recreate, start your F-16C then click A-G, LIST, COM1, etc. then try to change ILS frequency. How do I do that because pressing "1" at that point starts entering a frequency NOT the ILS freq. My guarantee: if my first two bombs don't destroy you, the next one's free F-16C | FC3 | Persian Gulf

MadCat1381 Posted April 20, 2020 Posted April 20, 2020 The only buttons that will get you direct to the related page are the override buttons (Com 1 and 2, IFF and List). For the priority function buttons to work, you need to be on the CNI (communication, navigation, IFF) page. It's quite simple, once you get used to it.
