In my campaign my.wingmen have killed me more than any iranians by far on catapult ops. One mission we apparently dewinged ourwingman catting. Our plane showed no warning lights. I wouldbt have known it happened hadnt jester yelled we re hit.

Now i get this is a unforseen consequence and normally gim sounding.. well almost panicky would be more approptuate. But damnit even if the plane had been on fire i would have told him to get it together and said something to the flight surgeon!

He sounded panicky the entire flight (admiteddly our engine did fail - one of them - about an hour later. But we made it home. We didnt land tho. Lol but my fault) still. As pilot i would have demanded he "get a geip" especially after 30 min an no master caution of sounding near panic and near screaming. It would be a kice option to tell option " GETDD A GRIP" and reset his pa ic mode so he talked normally. It can be very annoying at inappropriate times.

Also as a suggestion. Ibstead of just "we're hit!" Maybe make an optuon like landinf call outs for jester to say (not immediately post hit but say youre alive in 3 min) x y z looks bad. This may happen.

Or y z x are borked. I can work without them usinf this though.

Or x and y dont work. Rtb NOW.

Or y and x work. We can complete our mssion though - up to you sir?

he already calls obvious damage, our wing is hit, our engine is hit, etc. probably the damage was not visible, so he only noticed "we are hit".

 

as for him being constantly exited, we'll look into that. I agree, after the initial shock wears off, he should calm himself down.

No IronMike please dont change it. Even though I agree with sublime in principle and with you in that most would calm down after the initial adrenaline dump, I believe that this is a spot on behavior for a NFO. Now if you had an EOD guy in the back seat it would be a different story.

 

Brown shoe folks, cant live with them but, they do occasionally come in handy in a pinch.

I like the current implementation of jester's nervousness, tho i do agree, it goes overboard sometimes.

I think a "calm down" jester command would be a great addition to the crew contract submenu

I LOVE jester dont get me wrong. I fet its AI and cant be perfect.

I like him being excited ofre .

I mean though seriously. Any in flight emergency .. if theres no NEW crisis he shouldnt still be SHOUTING in the ICS at that point

yeah, a command "calm down" etc could be useful, the question is always how much work it costs, coding new commands for jester unfortunately is a ton of work. I think it will be easier to let his emergency state expire after a while of being hit.

Id be perfectly happy with that too!

I just mean as of now its a bit silly 45 min after having our taxi accident for him to be shouting FRIENDLY F14 6 O CLOCK!!! FRIENDLY GORILLA GROUP 10 OCLOCK!!!!

It reminds me of the files i deleted in il2 of the german ai guy whoae always sceeaming "HIER IST TAIFUN!"

my BIGGEST PROBLEM BY FAR RIGHT NOW ARE MURDEROUS WINGMEN ON CV DECKS!

let me explain - in all campaigns esp dve but all campaigns unless I let them all rake off and gtfo they will cat into me, drive into me, cat and hit their wing, thats how the incident qith rhe RIO happened! Isnt there ANYTHING we can about this? Why cant they like.. NOT catapult if somethings in the way. Or say if the take off path is not clear.. NOT TAKE OFF?
