TorwaK Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Turkish Armed Forces changes all infantry rifles with new generation rifles. MKE (Turkish Weapon Producer) and Heckler & Koch made an agreement that HK416-417 will produce under name of "Mehmetзik-1" and equip to Turkish army. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_96PsTbhw94 HK416 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zSPwZXfDnM [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core i7-6700K, @5GHz | Asus Maximus Hero VIII | 2 x eVGA GTX 970 SLI | Kingston Predator 16GB DDR4-3000Mhz | 2 x Samsung 850 PRO 240GB RAID-0 | AOC G2460PG G-SYNC LCD | OCULUS RIFT CV1 VR | THRUSTMASTER HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO PEDALS

TorwaK Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 It's an M4, right? Heckler & Koch took the M4-A1 SOCOM rifle and redesigned. So they game it a name like HK-(4)-> M4 + (16) -> M-16 Watch this and everything will be clear http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zSPwZXfDnM [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core i7-6700K, @5GHz | Asus Maximus Hero VIII | 2 x eVGA GTX 970 SLI | Kingston Predator 16GB DDR4-3000Mhz | 2 x Samsung 850 PRO 240GB RAID-0 | AOC G2460PG G-SYNC LCD | OCULUS RIFT CV1 VR | THRUSTMASTER HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO PEDALS

TorwaK Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 One thing made me laugh indeed. In movie the guy whos testing the weapon, he takes HK-416 rifle from inside of sand and before start to shooting, he says "Don't try it at home!" Huummm... I've an HK-416 at home, I'll bury it in to sand after that take it from there and start shooting around. Really interesting... how many people have HK-416 at home I'm curious. leafer Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Finally watched the vdo. The host sounding B-movie dramatic and trying to instill a sense of urgency while in the safety of HK compound at Loudoun, Virginia was hilarious. Noticed the gun was buried in the sand with the ejection port cover and bolt fully closed. Would love to see them try it again with them open. Let's get an avalanche of sand in there, man. Also, notice the host's attempt to be covert while he raised the gun into firing position in a slow arch allowing ample sand to pour out as much as he could. And that water test with the same calculated move - effin PR tool. Flash back HK people: The Russians have been doing this since 1947! I love HK, man. They're very innovative and the no heat transfer to the bolt was brilliant, but damn this vdo sucked donkey's stinky balls (no first hand knowledge there). Here's a weapon I really liked and the vdo is not scripted like the one from HK: http://world.guns.ru/assault/as70-e.htm 1 ED have been taking my money since 1995. :P
Dmut Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 It's an M4, right? same caliber, totally different mechanics. for example, it don't use gas tube to the chamber, so bolt is always cool. and there is many other differences comparing to classis AR\Colt mechanics. "There are five dangerous faults which may affect a general: recklessness, which leads to destruction; cowardice, which leads to capture; a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults; a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame; over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble."
