Hi All,

I'm begging for help. I've tried everything and read all the posts and RTFM. Still no dice.

I am running standalone DCS and I use default install folder from many years ago. I do not use MODS. Viacom Pro used to work until one day after an update and it crapped out never to work since.

I have even tried doing the steam check box and do custom path (even though I don't use custom path). I've hit up Hollywood but no replies as I'm sure he's very busy.

I've deleted just about all other export.lua in existences everywhere still stuck at 10%. Repair DCS only shows that I have 2 files needed deletion every time. Someone mentioned they had 5 files deleted.

Running Windows 10, latest and greatest. It can't be this difficult but I am exhausted. I have been trying for at least two months and still no joy. Call me stupid but somebody please walk me through this torture.

DCS is reporting correct Viacom Pro versions:

Version: 2.5.18

License: Pro

dll: 2.5.18.1

chatter: 2.5.2.0

airio: 2.5.7.0

dcs updater 2.9.17.19

version 2.5.6.47404 @openbeta

thanks

Can you give a little more detail about how your problem shows up?

For example, is it DCS world that is not loading properly or VoiceAttack and what does the failure look like?

Just one thought, if it is DCS that is misbehaving, a recent DCS update made changes to the access control and that appeared to upset a number of anti-virus programs. If you are running an AV program, it might be worth checking that hasn't quarantined any files.

Sure.

1) I run VCPro admin (I wait for the chatter to come on)

2) Then I start DCS

3) I see DCS splash screen loading, at 10% it just sits there. I have let it sat for a long time before.

Once this happens, I use task manager to close DCS. Then I closed VCPro.

then,

1) Run DCS repairt and say "yes" (2 files get deleted common.lua and speech.lua)

2) I get a successfully repaired message

3) To test, I run DCS without VCPro.

4) Spashscreen comes on and DCS loads as usual, pretty fast actually. Bypasses 10% rather quickly, game loads, no issues.

Then once I fired up VCPro, problem repeats as described above and I repeat the process to get DCS loading again.

I've had VCPro for quite some time and never had any issues other than Jester doesn't respond to "startup" in the Tomcat.

No errors or messages telling of any issues. My anti-virus logs show nothing quarantined. I've check other logs and they are all empty.

Thanks a lot for trying to help me.

Let me know if you need other information.

A few thoughts:

1. Are you running VA / VAICOM in debug mode? This won't resolve the problem but might give some clues.

2. Are there any clues in the DCS log file when you have had to stop it using task manager?

2. If you try it again, please could you attach the speech.lua file (the one where it doesn't start not the repaired DCS one) to a post so we can take a look

Thanks

As you appear to have removed the DCS software from the list of culprits as well as probably VA/VP, it looks like something else might be getting in the way. If that is the case then maybe check your task manager, to see what else might be running.

For a starter for 10 and this might sound like an odd one, but do you have the ASUS sound software running in the background? SONOS Studio i think it was called.

If so, I had to prevent mine from loading a couple of years ago, as it was interfering, not with DCS, but with another game, EVE Valkyrie IIRC. It might be a long shot, but if you do have it running, maybe temporarily close that software and try DCS again.

The only other thing that occurred to me, and this is probably even less likely, was whether you might have an unstable overclock?

It sounds to me like you're having a similar problem that I had.

I resolved it by uninstalling everything (both stable and OB versions of DCS) and then installing it all again.

To me it was like the "dcs path" setting and "OB" tickbox weren't working in the VAICOM Pro settings because it was always trying to generate the files in the folder for my DCS Stable version.

I tried just copying them over but I think there's just too many diferences between versions now that they're not compatible.

You defintely need to get the logs out of your saved games folder (e.g. :

"C:\Users\blah\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dcs.log") to find the route cause.

You need to download the latest version of Vaicom Pro and then tick the small "ob" checkbox on the right in the options.

Thank you everyone for your help! It finally worked.

I tried all suggestions you all gave me and got it to work on the same issue as Hafer although I've tried that before and it didn't work.

Even though I am running the standalone beta, I also had to do custom path (Even though my installation used the default path) and also check the "ob" button (even though I don't have Steam version). The weird thing is I've tried all this before and it never worked but something must have been triggered this time.

Thanks again everyone! Really appreciated the help.

How do I tick that box without starting DCS?

How do I tick that box without starting DCS?
It is in the Vaicom control panel. Start VoiceAttack and check the Vaicom profile is loaded.

Press LCtrl+LAlt+C to open the Vaicom control panel and then select the Config tab. Set the path and checkbox then close the config.

Retart VoiceAttack and then try launching DCS

Thank you kindly, I was under the mistaken impression that LATL LCTRl C only worked once in game as it wasn't working for me. It turns out I had the Keypress option turned off!!!

I found a combination of latest VIACOM PRO, Ticked OB and deleting Export.lua from saved games directory worked for me.
