Game crash after about 10 mins in VR

Hi all,

 

Wondering if anyone can help.

Im running DCS using an Oculus rift and after about 10-15mins the game will freeze and crash. This will happen on all modules using VR and will also happen with both the Oculus launcher and Steam launcher.

My specs are - I7 7800X/16GB RAM/1080ti/ game installed on an SSD.

I have also uninstalled the Nvidia drivers using DDU and installed the latest driver but still the crash happens

 

Can someone please shed some light :(

Hi,

 

welcome to the forum.

 

It looks like a display driver crash.

 

Verify your install and check your display driver

 

It would be a good idea to increase your pagefile

Thanks for taking a look,

I tried what you recommended and still encounter the same crash about 15 mins in when using VR.

So far I have:

 

1. Uninstalled Nvidia drivers using DDU and reinstalled the latest

2. Verified the game files in steam

3. Increased the page file size to 16384

 

I have attached the log file again.

 

Any other ideas???

Are you using a DVI-VGA-adapter? (or any adapter? I had your issue once...)

Hi, thanks for responding- nope no adapter just display port to display port to the monitor and HDMI connection for the rift

How warm is your VR getting? Last time I had a long event (Speed&Angels), my Dell Visor stopped working after 1.5 hours, my guess is overheating (worked fine again after a break). Maybe some component in your headset does, way earlier? (manufacturing defect?)

Thanks, don't think its the headset as it works fine in other games, in fact my PC works without any issues in every other game I own apart from DCS :joystick:

But the question is, are all your other VR games as GPU-demanding as DCS? ;) (at least good that we can pinpoint it and can see that it appears to be a driver-issue!)
