D4n Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 (edited) As you can see in this screenshot, bandits are just "vanishing" as soon as they cross onto the lower 3rd of the HSD screen when using ALT MAP DMAP Type (special settings for JF-17)... Is this realistic, while the entire map data is rendering totally fine? Or a bug? (I imagine in real-life it can be VERY confusing to JF-17 pilots in this map mode when bandits suddenly vanish behind them and they think "ah, all fine, clear, bandit got shot down, I can recommit..." just to get a long-range missile launched at them for example... Would be very very dangerous if this is actually how it is rendered on real JF-17 MFCD. (red circle on right you can see tiny bit of symbology of a bandit, red dashed line is approx. where the lower 1/3rd of HSD is.) AeriaGloria Posted May 3, 2020 Posted May 3, 2020 I’m pretty sure that’s realistic, wouldn’t make sense to have that info if was going to get cluttered. In real life I don’t think the need to look behind you is as far as you want to see in front of you. If you really need to see behind you just increase map scale, that’s all a “pilot” would need to do, not get confused and think the enemy got shot down I mean you mention long range missile shots, well guess what that missile against you will have the greatest range head on, and the shortest range from behind you. shaHeen-1 Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 That's the shape of the standard RWR. I don't think it's supposed to print anything lower. It's just that the map is drawing all the way down.
AeriaGloria Posted May 4, 2020 Posted May 4, 2020 Think of seeing the map on he lower portion as a bonus Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
