I have a question for the viper people, is there a way to slew the pod around without it also moving the selected steerpoint around with it. In other words; I want to have the jet remember my Flight plan as is and designate attack targets with the pod independent of my mission waypoints.

Right now when I select the pod it slaves to the waypoint and when I decide to slew it, it takes the waypoint with it. Is that just how it is? or is there another way?

Not how it works in the real jet. Just an ED hack so you can use the TGP while they code the rest of the system.

New hotness: I7 9700k 4.8ghz, 32gb ddr4, 2080ti, :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, HP Reverb (formermly CV1)

Old-N-busted: i7 4720HQ ~3.5GHZ, +32GB DDR3 + Nvidia GTX980m (4GB VRAM) :joystick: TM Warthog. TrackIR, Rift CV1 (yes really).

Oh ok I see, I was gonna say mark points could help to some extent but they are not implemented ATM.

So in the future, we should be able to make designations with the pod without that changing waypoints?

In the future it will make an offset point wherever it looks, requiring cursor zero to recenter it on the steerpoint. Failing to cursor zero may throw off the entire flight plan.

That makes much more sense then what we have now.

In the meanwhile, if you want to see how the TPOD should work, check out the A10C. You can do so much more with the TPOD there and I hope most of it comes to the F16 at some point!

Yeah and even that has its issues. But yes the A10 pod is much more complete than the F16 at the moment.

Yup. I've been complaining about since release day. IDK why they didn't do it from day 1, but at least we got a semi functional tgp on day 1 so there is that. I just really question ED's whole implement things partway strategy.

Hahaha :D exactly.

Yeah nothing I love more then having to un-learn things that we're wrong from the start...I guess its better then nothing, but I agree. It sure is wonky right now. lol

Yeah, I honestly have mostly stopped flying the Viper due to how incomplete it is. Even the F18 really. I recall they "fixed" the JDAM's like 3 times on the F18 and I was like, nope not re-learning this for the 3rd time.

So I fly the Jeff and the F14 and older modules they at least are mostly done.

Yeah. I find myself in the same position. I've dropped flying the F-16 until it's more complete...at least the TGP. I can't bring myself to fly it until that's addressed.
