Radar range after locking

Hi guys.

The radar range in the mfd gets decreasing automatically as I close to the target. But I want to observe the general picture so I don't want to reduce radar scale to 5-10nm. Can I disable it? I can't even increase this by pressing OSB's while I am locked to a target.

Do not go to SINGLE TARGET TRACK only 1x TMS up..

No, there is no range control in STT. It does its automatic ranging. There's not any information you're missing out on though because the radar is focused on one target and no other contacts are detected and thus there is nothing to display (except DL stuff I guess).

If you make a target a system target in TWS your plane will simply "remember" the target, but not lock onto it. In this mode you can use the radar just like normal. Press TMS right once and it will make the target a bugged target, and you will lock the target and the plane will take control over radar screen range.

I made some tests and I just hit tms right once to bug a target, I didn't switch to stt but radar decreased its size to 5nm and didn't let me increase while target bugged.

In another test I hit tms right once to bug a target in the radar, It did. than I hit tms right again to cycle between targets. It increased radar range to 80 nm to show other red targets and cycled by including them.
