Saskuatch Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 I've noticed that when flying straight and level, the AI wingman will be flying at a different AoA, with his leading edge flaps deployed. I was wondering as to why that is and if there is control for the leading edge flaps, all the guides I read so far don't mention anything about this. I've also noticed it happening in the f-18 module. What's the advantage to doing that? Or is it just an AI behavior?
Emmy Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 I think it’s just AI behavior. If you watch AI assets closely through all phases of flight, their control surfaces and attitudes rarely fit what one might call “correct.” [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com
Tom Kazansky Posted May 16, 2020 Posted May 16, 2020 Yeah, looks odd. Has to be an AI bug bc you can't fly (that) different AoAs with the same weight and speed (with similar planes and same position of flaps) afaik. It has been there for years. I'll never stop hoping they'll fix that issue some day.
