Tempest
When I run the inscription on the headrest through GOOGLE I get something about blast charge to separate canopy and don't do something while testing. Anyone give me an exact translation? TIA
LeCuvier
here is what it means: Caution! Canopy is jettisoned by explosive charge. Don't touch the jettison lever. Before testing, secure the firing pin. My dictionaries show 2 translations for "Schlagbolzen": "firing pin" and "percuteur". Tempest
Well I found a few cutaways-no pictures that could help...BUT..very interesting discussion here on jettisoning FW 190 canopy with a diagram. 20mm blank cartridge! Makes sense. Something easily in stock. FWIW. Evidently placed between part labeled #11 and #16. https://ww2aircraft.net/forum/threads/bf109-why-no-bubble-canopy.38193/page-
