Minor documentation error. Supercarrier Operations Guide page 40 defines Case I weather minimums as "when the cloud deck is higher than 3,000 feet and visibility is greater than 5 miles"

As written, if the weather is reported as 3000 or 5 case II should be in effect.

I beleive the actual definition is: Case I weather requires the ceiling to be no lower than 3,000 feet and not less than 5 NM visibility.

In other words, if weather is reported as 3000ft or 5 miles you are still Case I.

Greater than or equal to, basically. NAVAIR 00-80T-105, P-816, and P-1211 all confirm this in various wording:

"...no lower than 3,000 feet and not less than 5nm visibility" (NATOPS)

"3,000/5 or greater" (CNATRA)
