Compered to the "Old Stennis" you could see a high ball in overhead-brake. SC's IFLOLS (not the overlay) high ball, is not visible if you're even a tad above the upper glide-slope limit. See pics.

Old Stennis was wrong, total vertical coverage of the IFLOLS from bottom red to high amber is only 1,7° there is no way you would be able to see it at 800ft even 1,5 miles behind ship.

The total coverage of the ball is measured in tens of feet for most of the groove length. You have to be very precisely in the groove on glidepath to see it.
