QuiGon Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 (edited) Me and some friends tried playing a coop mission with the SC yesterday and ran into an issue with AI aircraft spawning. Me and my 3 human wingmen were sitting on our spawn positions (1, 2, 6, 7 as per attached picture), waiting for our pre-briefed launch time. Meanwhile other AI flights were spawning in on the catapults to launch. Almost every time when an AI aircraft spawned in on catapults 2 and 4, it caused a hit event with the players on position 2 and 7, damaging the AI aircraft. There was no noticable dammage on the player aircraft at first, but after a couple of these incidents the client aircraft at position 7 started burning and we aborted the mission. There was no collision visible, although the two affected players said they got shaken around a bit when the AI spawned on the catapults and a hit event was logged. I guess this is some kind of network sync issue (hence I as the host never got hit, even though i was closest to the catapults), although all players had pings below 25ms. I've attached a track, where the hit events are visible in the chat. First hit event after ~4 minutes. Second hit event after ~11 minutes. More hit events are following thereafter. Player positions as follows (affected players are bold): QuiGon (Host): Spawn 1 Destinate (Client): Spawn 2 Maximus (Client): Spawn 6 O'Keefe (Client): Spawn 7server-20200524-215035.trk Edited May 25, 2020 by QuiGon Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted May 25, 2020 ED Team Posted May 25, 2020 Sorry I tried to take a look, the scripts in the mission make it difficult to reproduce. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? QuiGon Posted May 25, 2020 Author Posted May 25, 2020 (edited) Oh right, the mission was from MBot's Dynamic F/A-18C campaign, which makes use of his Dynamic Campaign Engine, which is installed seperately from the campaign: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=259521 :noexpression: I would upload another track file from one of the affected clients, which hopefully doesn't require the Dynamic Campaign Engine, as it is only needed for the host, but its file size is too big :( Edited May 25, 2020 by QuiGon Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!
QuiGon Posted May 29, 2020 Author Posted May 29, 2020 I worked around the issue by letting all players spawn at the back of the boat now. That way they are far enough away from the catapults, to prevent spawning AI aircraft warping through them.
