HoYa Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 In my f16 folder all I have for paint jobs is the thunderbirds (4 of them) and the 149th. But mission editor seems to always show just the four thunderbirds. Any idea why the 149th does come up as an option ?
Rudel_chw Posted May 25, 2020 Posted May 25, 2020 (edited) Tough many people don't like it, the Mission Editor has a feature that it will only show the Liveries that are marked as belonging to the aircraft's country. So, let's say that the F-16 belongs to Israel ... then the editor will only show the Liveries that are marked with the code "ISR". The country codes of each livery is inside their description.lua file .. usually at the end of the file for example: ... (not shown for clarity) ... name = "ISR - IAF 101 squadron 'Skulls' (by Wolfthrower)" countries = {"ISR", "USA"} The countries line allows several country codes, separated by commas, on this sample this livery will show up on the ME only if the F-16 belongs to either USA or Israel. if the line is omited then the livery is available for every country. The name line, contains the name of the skin. If it is omited, then the name of its folder will be used as name of the livery. While it may seem good to omit the countries line to use the livery on wichever country we want, the downside is that the livery list on the ME can then be annoyingly long .. personally, I prefer it to be filtered by country thus showing only the liveries that are relevant.
