I posted a 187 second track on Lockon Files to get solid comparisons between your own settings and others. The track consists of ground attack on a small (in town) AI column, and a short dog fight above the thunderstorm clouds

Download link is ok now

Obviously graphics settings will matter, so post those.

Test bed:

E8400 @ 4.1Ghz

8800GTS 640mb @ 640 core 923 mem

2GB DDR2 @ 912Mhz

1920x1200 With absolutely everything turned on and up

Min, Max, Avg

0, 48, 23

Here's the FPS at bare minimum

800x600 everything on low or off

Min, Max, Avg

49, 222, 103

_____________________________________________

at 1920x1200 everything high except water, no mirrors, no reflections, no scratches

Fraps showed

Min, Max, Avg

0, 145, 49.487

Same setting but at 1280x1024 showed

Min, Max, Avg

0, 158, 56.294

Notice the big 0 for the minimum sections, lockon is still a pain in the butt in the minimums.

Mods also factor in... Here are mine

"water and no mirrors"

Sorry but what is the point ? then.. mirror are very important in dog fight.

Plz same with Mirror on and reflection. Thx for the test good system :)

Mine was on E6700 3.8 ghz all maxed with mirror and i had better score running at 1600 x 1200 with a 7950 GX2 but this res was real bad for Online play.. so i had to go to 1280 x 1024 to be able to see dots

This is bit OF for the thread but I had to say you couldn't be more wrong... in dogfight you need to be all visual.. moving your head and keep an eye on the oponent. If you are using mirrors in dogfight you are already in shitty position :joystick: it means enemy is on your REAR! :smilewink:

Well about Dogfight i know a little bit ;)

Now read this very well .. You have to use your eyes and this is Track IR (no trackIR no talk ) while scanning for every little shade, dots, silhouette, shine, reflection .. while scanning around you have to see also where you eyes are not focused .. That mean Mirrors help you when someone is passing behind you, you can see the black silhouette just enough to warn you and it DOESN't mean is on six position spot on ready to shoot.

Just this little instant is enough to save yourself .. that is "ALL visual" Kuky

Trust me on that You will not teach me anything on Dogfights.

Well wanna explain why Mirrors are not useful then ? ;)

If you need mirrors then it is already too late...

S = SPARSE(m,n) abbreviates SPARSE([],[],[],m,n,0). This generates the ultimate sparse matrix, an m-by-n all zero matrix. - Matlab help on 'sparse'
