VirusAM Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 What settings are you guy using for the idle detents.... I mean for the Hornet but i would also like to map it for other aircrafts (F16, F14 mainly). I tried the idle and the on/off setting but was not able to make it working correctly because often it will need to moves from off to idle, back to off and then idle again to be recognized. So any advice for configuration? PS i received the throttle only yesterday R7-5800X3D 64GB RTX-4090 LG-38GN950 N/A Moza AB9 FFB Base + Moza MH-16 Grip, VKB Stecs Max, VKB T-Rudder MKV, Razer Tartarus V2 Secrets Lab Tytan, Monstertech ChairMounts
Supmua Posted June 4, 2020 Posted June 4, 2020 (edited) How throttles work: Physical OFF = Button 1 and 2 in press state. Physical IDLE = Button 1 and 2 in release state (no good way to bind that from within DCS setting. There's OFF/IDLE but it doesn't always work correctly). Problem: DCS can't recognize button release state unless you put it in press state first, but external apps such as joystick gremlin (and I believe RS_Mapper) can do so no matter where the original throttle position is. Solutions: What I'm currently doing. 1. Map throttle OFF in DCS setting with throttle L and R in Off positions (in DX input terms: button 1 and 2 press). 2. Use an external app that recognizes button release state such as joystick gremlin to map throttle IDLE (you can either use key command which is easier or vjoy's virtual button which is a bit more complex). So it would be RALT-HOME and RSHFT-HOME for keymapping (for the Hornet). For joystick gremlin to recognize button release, you have to use Macro instead of regular mapping (don't ask me why, the creator said so). Hope you enjoy your new throttle as much as I do. I've been messing around with it everyday since I got it. Edited June 4, 2020 by Supmua PC: 5800X3D/4090, 11700K/3090, 9900K/2080Ti. VirusAM Posted June 5, 2020 Author Posted June 5, 2020 I am not familiar with joystick gremlin, and i like to have my profiles as much DX only as i can. But if that is the only solution i will explore it. Thanks. Supmua Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 (edited) With my method you can also map vjoy buttons as throttle release instead of key commands, just macro input vjoy button 1 and 2 instead. Those are extra two buttons that have to come from somewhere (DX buttons designated as vjoy buttons from the same device or others, I tested with fire test switches on the panel as well as button 58 & 59 on my F16-SGRH grip and they work). Looks like Ant0ine also posted his vjoy input way of doing it, thanks. It is slightly different from mine but similar concept. VirusAM Posted June 5, 2020 Author Posted June 5, 2020 Yes thanks to both...but as I don't have this program and not familiar with it i didn't really understand what to do R7-5800X3D 64GB RTX-4090 LG-38GN950 N/A Moza AB9 FFB Base + Moza MH-16 Grip, VKB Stecs Max, VKB T-Rudder MKV, Razer Tartarus V2 Secrets Lab Tytan, Monstertech ChairMounts
Fusedspine33 Posted June 5, 2020 Posted June 5, 2020 There are some F-18 specific commands listed toward the end of this thread that may serve as a solution for several key assignment issues in the module. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=89226 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
