TheNicePig Posted June 14, 2020 Posted June 14, 2020 So. I've been flying DCS with only a keyboard for quite a while now and i can perfectly perform air-air combat, formation flying, carrier landings and with some difficulty, AAR. In fact i've bought a few modules already and i all enjoyed them. Even the clanky old MiG-21bis is very fun for me. Anyways, i got the AV-8B on sale last month and now just got around to flying it. However, it seems that the keyboard controls is unlike other aircrafts i've flown, it resets the stick to center after you release the control keys. In jets like the MiG-21bis, the F/A-18 and all the FC3 pack, keyboard control is accumulative, meaning that the stick will not reset the pitch position after you let go the control keys. You could easily see this for yourself if you try to fly with keyboard. So my question is, are there any lua files or settings i could change to edit the keyboard-stick behaviour? (keep in mind that i'm using Steam, though they both are pretty much the same anyways)
Bagpipe Posted June 15, 2020 Posted June 15, 2020 post it to razbam's AV8B section of the flrum mate they will have the answer
Aluminum Donkey Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 You could get into hacking the data files, but why bother? You can get a half decent stick for the price of one module. Yes, the pitch control is accumulative, and yes, you might be able to mess with the files or write your own code to make the pitch position reset on release, or have a unique key command to center the stick, or switch auto-centering on release on or off, or any other number of hacks. But, I'm not sure why you'd ever want to fly DCS with the keyboard. Why bother going to all that effort just for that? (No problem if you like it, but... why?) AD Kit: B550 Aorus Elite AX V2, Ryzen 7 5800X w/ Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE, 2 x 16GB Kingston Fury DDR4 @3600MHz C16, Asus ROG Strix RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, EVGA SuperNova 750 G2 PSU, HP Omen 32" 2560x1440, Thrustmaster Cougar HOTAS fitted with Leo Bodnar's BU0836A controller. --Aviation is the art of throwing yourself at the ground, and having all the rules and regulations get in the way! If man was meant to fly, he would have been born with a lot more money!
