Hey, I was just wondering, if there will be a seperat module icon for the A-Tomcat?

It make sense, to bind both into one single icon, but the Icon we already have says "F-14B".

So maybe we get a second Icon in our module bar?

Thank you very much for feedback.

Stay healthy & fly safe :pilotfly: :joystick:

I agree, one Icon is the best way to go if its renamed to "F-14" or "F-14A+/B".

If the community can vote between both, I would vote for "F-14A+/B" due to the fact all DCS modules have specific Version labels under their Module Icon name. But in the end of the day its up to you to choose between both "F-14" or "F-14A+/B". Lets see what it will be at the end.

Thanks again. Nice to hear that you'll had this point on your to-do-list.

Greetings

Not sure, could also just say "F-14" or "F-14A+/B" etc... I guess we'll cross the bridge when we get there.

Hmm, I have always been under the impression the A+ and B were the same models...just different nomenclature periods.

That's correct. The A+ entered service in 1988 was renamed the B around 1992. It's caused no end of confusion for some folks who assume that the A+ is the LANTIRN-capable A.

I think Heatblur should use the specific block number for the F-14A we're getting to distinguish it, just as ED calls the playable Hornet "F/A-18C Lot 20" to distinguish from the AI only F/A-18C. So maybe to distinguish the HB F-14A from the AI, maybe F-14A-140-GR or something like that.

But if you, put both A and B full complete Block numbers to one module it could looks very confusingly for one single icon.

But yes, it's uniformly to the other modules.

But I would still prefer a more short-on-point module-name like "F-14A/B".

"F-14" is too short in my opinion.

But let's see how Heatblur solve this one when they get there.
