I have a question regarding the commands from the Jester wheel to STT a TWS Target. Jester always says unable regardless of being TWS or RWS. Bur he often seems to be able to STT from the "Select specific Target" Command on the Wheel also regardless of radar mode. Can any one elaborate on this, let me know what I might be doing wrong Etc?

Same experience. Enemey target ahead, high closure speed but only specific target Jester can STT, enemy or target ahead - no way.

what is the target hooked as? for example: if he did not designate it yet as friendly or enemy, "enemy target ahead" will not work, because factually there is no enemy target for jester, etc... also here one of the problems is the limit of the AI. designating target, while getting lock commands, while IFFing... Jester cannot do all at once, you need to help him with that a bit, too. So you best need to check what is on the TID repeater, what is what kind of target, etc and then select that. If you have however 3 enemy targets ahead (marked as hostile), then how should he know which one of the three (if all in a fairly similar dispostion). It's not always distance either, sometimes it can be closure rate, similar like the AWG-9. Personally I thus, too, find that select specific target works best. It gives the best SA and the most choices anyway.

Hey @IronMike

My question was not about tracking contacts and STT in general I realize Jester sometimes can't track what ever is out there. My question is about Functions 5 (FIRST TWS TARGET) and 6 (TWS TARGET NUMBER) under the STT LOCK menu. They seem never to work regardless of actually being in parameters to use functions 1-4 successfully. This is also regardless of radar mode (obviously this function was made to be used out of TWS, but functions 1-4 work, when within parameters both in RWS and TWS).

So I'm puzzeled about options 5 and 6, when to use them, how to use them, are they working as intended, etc?
