NWS sometimes not active when start from Cold and Dark

I must be missing something. It seems that sometimes when I start up from Cold Dark, the NWS "comes online" as it should, but sometimes it doesn't. I can't quite figure it out. Normally it shows NWS in the hud, and the front wheels steer as is proper, but sometimes the NWS never appears in the HUD and I can't seem to find a switch that will activate it. Is this a known bug? thanks

You can bind nosewheel steering. Single click turns it on, holding it turns nosewheel steering into "HI" mode where you shorter turn radius

NWS is controlled by the Undesignate / NWS pinkey button on the stick.

 

As Photon said above, holding it will enable NWS High, unless your wings are folded, in which case NWS High will latch on. NWS is also disabled when the launch bar is lowered, unless you hold the NWS button.

The two posts above are correct, but I've also noticed that sometimes the NWS is on by default after I complete a cold start, and other times I have to manually engage it before taxi.

 

I'm not sure what conditions cause the difference.

NWS SHOULD NOT be active during a cold start. The FCS IBIT also shouldn’t run with the NWS engaged. The first time NWS should be on is before taxiing out of the chocks.

Yepp, I think the problem here is in the fact that NWS is generally ON when performing a cold start :)
