Specific version impossible to determine from that picture, so Mi-8 is correct.

Although my guess would be Mi-8MTV-1 (Mi-17-1V).

It also has armor and weapon release switches, so that may help a tad (but not really, as weapons and armor do not, on their own, determine version).

It's not a Yak, and it's not a copy :)

don't know about that thing. I'll try to find out.

Never forget that World War III was not Cold for most of us.

Correct :) Ikarus S-49C

That thing is part of the Hispano-Suiza 12Z-17 engine of the all-metal C version. The A version was of wood-metal construction with the Klimov M-105 engine, and it didn't have this part.

Hispano-Suiza 12Z-17 engine picture: http://img4.imageshack.us/img4/3884/hispanosuiza.jpg. I still think that part was a dust filter.

Name this aircraft. Don't mind two naked girls in the cockpit.

Btw, Ikarus was the first airplane factory in Yugoslavia (1923), located in Novi Sad ;) Some machinery (aviation-specific) was later moved to Mostar, where Soko (the maker of Galeb series) was formed, while the rest was moved to Belgrade, where Ikarus became Ikarbus bus factory :D

So another Ikarus that got grounded? :P

Interestingly enough there is a Romanian bus factory called Ikarus. Their buses were pretty common in Eastern Germany until after the first years of our reunification. Gotta look up their history sometime to find out if they have a aviation record too. ;)

About the riddle I'd say it's a British seaplane. Probably older than the girl's grandfathers. ;)

Hello everybody, I'n new to the forum, having finally and succesfully installed Black Shark (after performing something akin to an exorcism to Vista...) and I just walked into this part of the forum. Hope I'm not breaking any rules by trying to answer....leaving aside the quite interesting girls in the cockpit, I'd say that this aircraft is a Beriev Be6 flying boat

Ok here my question, anybody recognize this plane ?

This is Piaggio P.119 (MM497)

Impossible. :shocking:

Unfortunately this… uh… way of using the airplane was possible in between 2003 and 2006.

This particular Be-6 aircraft in 1974 was mounted on the pedestal in Donuzlav, Crimean Peninsula. In 2003 she fell from pedestal after violent storm and was looted for nonferrous metals. Later this plane was moved to Yevpatoria Aircraft Maintenance Plant for preliminary repair and then, in late August 2009, she was transported to Zhulyany State Aviation Museum near Kiev for full restoration. This restoration scheduled to finish by Victory Day in 9 May 2010.
