Yep I noticed that a while back thought oops a mod that's gone wrong and hoped a grown up would fix it.

I know this topic is old but no solution has ever been posted. Well here she is.

It's the mod: NATO Personnel and Items (by Suntsag)

There is a LAV included --> LAV25_TARAWA.lua. In the mission Editor it is called "*APC LAV-25" 

It is intended to be placed on the Tarawa. (For whatever reason you should do that)
In any case, if you put it there, it won't float.

Why are they kind of square?

Do yours have external engine sound?  Guns make noise but no engines.
