tflash Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 Dear all, Does someone know how to correctly read the indications on the Tiger/Panther TZF gunsight? I set a Sherman at 840 meters (also measured with the in-game modern Laser Range Finder, which gives slightly different distances than the ME). I attach two pictures: one through te sight of the Tiger I, one through the sight of the Panther, in early the same place. The distance displayed on the Tiger I TZF is a bit lower than 840, but rather OK, while it seems to me that the measurement of the Panther is way off? Or should I look in the Panther at the bottom left indication, as I shoot Pzgr 39/42 ? But what is the 5 mils indication at the top in the Panther? Thanks! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
razo+r Posted July 22, 2020 Posted July 22, 2020 You are shooting the Pzgr 39/42 but you have set your gunsight to 500m (5 stands for 500m, not mil. If you want to use mil, use the triangles (big one is 4mil) ) with Spgr. 42. Turn it further to the correct scale and then it should be correct again.
tflash Posted July 22, 2020 Author Posted July 22, 2020 (edited) Yes but when I turn the Panther sight to the right distance, I overshoot the target! That is what I find strange, as in the Tiger it works as advertised. ------- Edit: oops sorry, when I select the Spgr. Gr. 34/L70 I can set the correct distance. So indeed I just misread the data. Edited July 22, 2020 by tflash I had the wrong ammo for the measurement [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
tflash Posted July 29, 2020 Author Posted July 29, 2020 Somemore precise info on the TZF I found this very instructive video, but it is in Polish. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
