Can Syria map techniques be applied to the other maps?

The Syria map is absolutely fantastic and still performs well on lower-end PCs (see my post here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=283761).

Obviously, they must be using some special and new techniques to achieve this level of detail and performance at the same time. Cities are filled with hundreds of buildings, all the trees are visible in your visible range whatever the "tree visibility" setting and they look realistic (not 2D shaped), the shorelines are beautiful too even in "low quality water" setting. And all that looks even nicer when you have a high-end graphics card (see all the published videos)!

I really wish ED could rework their existing maps, especially Caucasus, with these new techniques.

The new terrain engine is coming, and it means a lot changes again. Hopefully we get more features than needed so we get engine that doesn't need changes in near future.

I’m sure they will be applied to future maps ... but re-make older ones? I see it as very very unlikely.
