Admiral_ZIPANGU Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 I was starting up my JF-17 on ground power without starting the engine and all of a sudden the pilot started to run out of oxygen and the pilot blacked out with no resolution after reconnecting the oxygen system and starting the engine. I have no idea what happened... I am certain that the oxygen system was connected and the valve was open. The canopy was closed. sublime Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 This happened to me a bunch of times in the past aeria gloria is the best person to ask. Theres a couple.work arounds.. On the right console theres an air intake button. Id you click it over you can get ram air or something to flow into the pitnwithout the mask. This wont sace you up.high but you can avoid the mask with this. But otherwise that cockpit seals airtight. Turn the o2 and plug in. If you still are going out and dying, sace a track. I had similar problems but they went away or were related to a dcs mission thafs it
sublime Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 In fact search posts by me and look for.myp ost on this subject
AeriaGloria Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Be aware your pilot can also suffer hypothermia from cold, you can see this beforehand because the stick will start shaking. Your pilot can also have heat stroke if they in the heat too long. So turn on the ECS and engine ASAP in harsh conditions If temperatures normal, I would say just make sure you’re doing everything the same as the startup. You do have to plug in the G suit but that won’t affect you until you fly, just wanted to mention that because older material might not include it Sublimes issue I believe ended up being caused by using the emergency oxygen attached to the ejection seat Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com

I didnt know there was o2. I think my issue was the DCS - at the time I was clear and still am sure I was using the knob everyone uses just below left hand side of canopy, then plugging in
sublime Posted August 29, 2020 Posted August 29, 2020 ah after just looking there is emergency 02 OP and Aeria - no I was NOT using that switch Again I think it wwas the DCS mission that said Aeria was the one who told me about changing the intake air flow which works at lower altitudes. otherwise not sure what your issue is, perhaps you should try the emergency o2 until you take off By the by - aeria my issue also wasnt the emergency 02 because it wouldnt run out in less than 5 min on the ground ;)
dorianR666 Posted August 30, 2020 Posted August 30, 2020 i think there might be a bug with hypothermia it happened to me couple times my pilot was trembling on the ground with open canopy at 30C. the blackout at spawn only once though. CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600X GPU: AMD RX 580
