Hello and welcome by the BLACK ANGELS (Low Level Heaven)

2126460778_BlackAngelLLHLogo_klein.gif.0f7c9262b3829015f634d2bf07daf7e3.gif

Our goal:

To offer as many helicopter enthusiasts in DCS as possible a platform and group where they can fly, learn and exchange ideas together.

This is also the goal of our Helicopter Pilot Meeting Point on DISCORD.

Therefore we offer as Low-Level Heaven with the BLACK ANGELS a squadron that is committed to this goal.

DCS VS REAL LIFE
Our Airman program is open to all, including non-members or interested visitors from other squadrons.

More at the end of the article :smartass:

We speak German and English, whereby it is only important to understand one of the two languages.

Besides public servers, we use our own DCS server for missions and besides the DISCORD our own TeamSpeak for communication.

This together with the jet boys of the TigerMercs, so that also occasional trips into the world of the fixed-wing aircraft are possible.

We offer a wide range of flying oppertunitys.

Tuesday,Wednesday and Thursday is squadron evening.
Sometimes Saturday as well.

Saturday training will be announced in advance on the BLACK ANGEL DISCORD.

From 20:00 to 21:00 or 21:30. German Time (actual 19:00 UTC) we do some training. Afterward, we fly missions together or on other servers.

The goal is to train and fly as part of a large community in small groups divided according to interests (patterns or type of mission) and personal abilities. Of course, the groups should also be able to interact with each other and fly joint missions in different constellations.

CONDITIONS:

Everything can be nothing must. Respectful and comradely interaction is required.
Further information such as squadron rules, procedures and organization can be found here in the DISCORD.

https://discord.gg/aqwzv2P

In principle, there is no obligation to participate in the training.

Missions can also be attended by those who are not or only rarely present in the training. However, since we try to implement what we have learned in the training in the missions, regular participation in the training is highly recommended.

Many of our first members were or are with the Ugly Angels of a German Squadron, which is why we initially concentrated only on the German-speaking area.

In the meantime, we already have more English speaking members who feel amazingly comfortable with us.

I would like to invite anyone interested in the squadron and our way of training and flying missions to visit us, even if they do not speak German. We speak a kind of English 😂 and the common interest contributes to this.

No matter if you are English, French, Swedish, Danish, Hungarian, Turkish, Egyptian etc. we are looking forward to meet you.

The AIRMAN at the Black Angels is a squadron internal award which can be transferred to all helicopter SIMULATOR-PILOTS, also outside of DCS.
It is open to everyone, regardless if you are interested in a squad or not or you a member of a different squad.

Probably everyone asks themselves at some point the question, how well does "the training" theoretically prepare me for flight in a real helicopter.

This is independent of the membership in a real life squadron, in which strategy, tactics, and radio play a major role beyond prescribed tests.

On the one hand it is about the control of the helicopter concerning the steering and the technical side, on the other hand it is about how maneuvers like take-off and landing are carried out safely. In Real Live there is no "restart function" like in the simulator, which is often overused there.

At the Black Angels, we teach these basics, in particular during training.

By taking the AIRMAN exam, based on the "Practical Test Standards" of the FAA (US aviation authority), everyone can determine for themselves how well they have internalized these basics and can implement them. Whether and how the pilot implements and applies what he has learned on the PC can only be judged by an "expert", in the best case a real life flight instructor.

The test situation itself increases the realism and the value of the test considerably. If you have any questions, visit the LLH BLACK ANGELS on DISCORD and contact @Grizzly / ADMIN or send me a Direct message here.

The BLACK ANGEL and the UGLY ANGEL are also open for interested guests and new members in the new year.

There are no prerequisites other than fun flying and proper etiquette.

Helicopter newbies can join right away, get all the help they need in the form of tips and training from a mentor.
Gladly also a preliminary briefing in the form of a joint flight with a flight lead.  So you can get to know each other in peace, ask and answer questions if you want.

In advance, the most important thing:
The Right Life: Family; girlfriend, horse car or whatever always comes first. Who for whatever reason, only occasionally has time, is still welcome.

What is the difference between the squadrons?

The BLACK ANGELs are international and English is spoken in addition to some German.
It is about more than just flying and shooting, but fun is in the foreground.
But if you expect more, you will find it here. With our cavalry squadron it gets more demanding.

Training times:

Tuesday and Wednesday Saturday (after announcement) : From 20:00 o'clock, approx. 1 hour training, afterwards mission (everybody flies the pattern of his choice, if possible)
Thursday : Mission evening. We meet from 20:00 and start the mission at 20:30 at the latest.

The UGLY ANGEL are a German speaking squadron (English is the exception).

Mission evenings are Monday and Wednesday from 20:00 o'clock, whereby Wednesday can be trained together with the BLCK ANGELS.
The UGLY ANGELS are primarily a pure fun squadron.

Membership in both squads is possible, so you can choose from 4-5 evenings.

Don't worry, we all fly for fun. We try to get better but still have a lot to learn.

Helicopter CAS Mission / Tactical Failure Analysis

The approximately 30-minute video summarizes and explains the critical scenes of a nearly 2-hour-long mission.
However, I can't confirm the impression that one or the other might have that it would have been easy to win.
However, what becomes clear is that a military environment is about much more than just flying and shooting.

With this short video, we want to thank all guests and newcomers who participated in the following missions after sharing their first training with us.

The mission objective is to detect the enemy and drop the previously picked-up troops as close as possible to its position. In addition to the armed escorts that accompany the squadron for protection, the primary task of the ground troops is to engage the enemy. Thus, the top mission objective is always to have as few crashes and restarts as possible.

We invite all DCS helicopter enthusiasts to visit us and become part of the community.

You can find us at the Helicopter Pilot Meeting Point on DISCORD https://discord.gg/CXCA7rf

or directly on TeamSpeak at (IP 207.180.224.31)

A short excerpt from a mission evening.
The UH-1 is in action as a troop carrier and Gun Ship.

Combined with CTLD some tactics and taking advantage of the terrain, it is amazing what the Huey is capable of.

🎄 :xmas:

Hello to all friends of helicopter flying and, of course, to all those who are not yet ready.

Christmas is just around the corner, and a turbulent 2023 is ending.

I would like to thank all of you who have accompanied and supported us this year and those who have only paid us a brief visit in the season or simply followed our messages.

My special thanks to the hard core of the group (I won't mention any names, so I can't forget anyone) who actively supported me with mission building, skins, and leadership. Without you, none of this would be possible. :worthy:

I would also like to take this opportunity to invite everyone who is looking for a group to fly together or just for help and training. Just come and visit us during the training times on TS and fly with us. There are no minimum requirements apart from having fun.
You can contact me or DISCORD directly for a preliminary briefing and F&Q.

So here is some more information for you:

We fly or tolerate :gun_rifle: all helicopter types
There are no requirements for participation in training or missions.

We do emphasize helicopter-specific flying skills, but those who do not want to train and regularly mark their land attempts with black smoke during the missions are just as welcome as those who only show up for training.  :smartass:
Our average age is around 40-45
Our members are all extremely helpful, and some really enjoy helping others :flowers:. And not just at Christmas.

We meet on five evenings a week with a wide variety of members. Anyone with the time and inclination comes, no matter when or how often.
Monday and Tuesday, we only fly missions. We train in various ways on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 20:00 to 21:00. After that, we usually switch to the mission. On Saturdays, we do what we feel like doing or what someone has planned.

We have a very high fluctuation, which should not deter you, but on the contrary, we are used to pilots coming by to get help and expand their skills and then continue on their own or with what they have learned to the professionals.  :police:

For some, we are simply not cool enough, and even if the first impression is deceptive, we are not organized militarily tightly enough. :director:

Officially, there can be "only one," but other opinions are also accepted as long as they agree with mine.:bash: :gun_smilie:

This brings us to almost the most important point. We meet because we enjoy what we do and want to learn together.  :smartass: A little humor can't hurt. It's amazing that we have so many Northern Lights in the group from this point of view. :music_whistling:

So, if you are still looking to join us in 2023 or 2024, we welcome everyone; consideration is one of our main characteristics.
Monday and Wednesday, we speak mainly German and take into consideration those who speak little or no English. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday, we speak mainly English and are considerate of those who don't speak German. But all evenings are open to everyone.

I wish you all, members and friends or not, a merry Christmas, peaceful holidays, and a happy New Year 2024.

Always happy landings ;)

The BLACK ANGELS in 2024

After consultation, a short training session is scheduled, and the lead has decided to land in a confined space followed by a helicopter attack.

We are very proud of how we can quickly integrate even absolute beginners with fun and professional training.
Seeing how the flying training, tactics, and group work pays off is even more fun.
Have you got curious?  Then come and fly with us.

VIETNAM /UH-1 HUEY - NOBODY IS LEFT BEHIND

OPERATION MASHER
is based on a historical mission during the Vietnam War realized as a DCS mission by our amateur historian Aardwark. "Nobody is Left Behind" shows an excerpt from the mission. We took the shoot-down and the successful emergency landing as an opportunity to spontaneously adapt the mission to the events and create this video.
