darkman222 Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Just a friendly reminder that in my opinion the F16s JHMCS should be at least fixed in a way that the pilot can automatically lock targets, as it is supposed to work, instead of pressing TMS up all the time and hoping that the F16 will lock at some point. It would be really dissappointing to see the F16 in the Fight for Honor competition with this disadvantage to the F18. With the enforced G limits, which I really appreciate very much, this might turn out to be the benchmark of how the F16 performs compared to the F18.
Florence201 Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Viper Dogfight will auto lock, at least it does for me. TMS up/down is to choose the radar mode for dogfight [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
darkman222 Posted September 18, 2020 Author Posted September 18, 2020 It will auto lock. But as it is now, you'll have to point the nose at your opponent to get a radar gun sight. If JHMCS would be working correctly, you could lock him up way off the nose easily and already have a calculated radar gun sight when you turn into him. Also this will give you valuable closure speed in your JHMCS while you're fighting with him.

I think actually the way that it's supposed to work is you depress TMS UP and then release it when you have the contact over the reticle.
