Couple days ago when I tried to start DCS (Steam version) it had forgotten all of my purchased module authorizations, even though I was logged in. I shut down the game, re-started, and it seemed ok, but it had forgotten a couple graphical settings. I'm pretty sure I have my settings back to where I had them before, which is almost all maxed out.

My issue now is that now while flying I'm seeing randomly my cpu spike to 100% usage for a couple seconds, then go back down to 40-60% like normal.

This didn't happen before Sunday 09-20-20. Did you guys change anything on your end in anticipation of a patch maybe?

Edit: I have a really good cooler on my cpu so even at 100% I'm only pushing 68C, but I'd rather not fly around at 100% usage if it can be avoided...

Edit 2: It's possible that I was using my other custom save slot for the graphics settings to get the higher fps, which would have lower cpu usage too.... I can't fully remember. Whatever the issue, it started when DCS forgot my module authorizations and then forgot some of my graphical settings.

Hi. This sounds like some files got damaged/deleted in your Saved Games\DCS folder.

I'm not convinced the problem you've experienced is linked to the CPU spikes you're having now, but there's an easy way to find out: you should try renaming the aforementioned folder as "DCS_backup" and then launch the game so it makes a brand new folder. You'll need to set your prefered graphics parameters and you won't have your keybindings set, but this is just a test. Then try flying a bit and see if you keep having these CPU spikes.

I’ll get back to you after I test
