Ramsay Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 (edited) The HUD's Waypoint Cross "+" that appears at 10 NM is misaligned to the 3D world i.e. 7-8 pixels low @ 1080x1920 The waypoint's 'real' position is approx at the bottom of the the top "tick". Galinette Posted September 25, 2020 Posted September 25, 2020 Actually, I also observed that the ILS square is low, and the bombing cues are low. It's possible that the whole HUD is shifted low.
Ramsay Posted September 26, 2020 Author Posted September 26, 2020 (edited) Actually, I also observed that the ILS square is low, I can confirm the synthetic runway also appears low from a distance but AFAIK it doesn't align perfectly IRL (different width and length to the actual runway), and given the other HUD ILS problems, the HUD's ILS display needs a lot of work. ... and the bombing cues are low. The accuracy of the CCRP designation diamond seems greatly improved in this patch. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4500343#post4500343 It's possible that the whole HUD is shifted low. Each HUD mode uses a separate "page" and some elements are coded on a per-page basis, there does appear to be a systematic error across the HUD "pages" i.e. when compared to how the AV-8B displays the same waypoints. Frederf Posted September 26, 2020 Posted September 26, 2020 Last I checked if you precisely line up the energy chevrons with the FPM you wouldn't maintain speed.
RAZBAM_ELMO Posted January 13, 2021 Posted January 13, 2021 Are we ensuring that there is no drift occuring? Also, the DCS engine likes to round coordinates even in other modules so while you might input correct positions they may be rounded. If that is the case then this may be a totally separate issue entirely. Know and use all the capabilities in your airplane. If you don't, sooner or later, some guy who does use them all will kick your ass. — Dave 'Preacher' Pace, USN.
