LastRifleRound Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 What is GC alignment and how does it work? I thought it was for a full alignment instead of manually entering a heading and more precise. However, now I'm seeing posts about using a cartridge to get a fast alignment. How does this work?
paco2002 Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 FAST: 40 seconds. Need to input the current heading of the plane. GC: 3 mins. NO need to input heading.
AeriaGloria Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 I’m pretty sure GC is for great circle, I believe it gets heading from measuring the rotation of the earth Black Shark Den Squadron Member: We are open to new recruits, click here to check us out or apply to join! https://blacksharkden.com
LastRifleRound Posted October 2, 2020 Author Posted October 2, 2020 Ok that's what I thought then I heard it was actually for "ground crew" and uou could get fast alignments if you did something with the cartridge. I'll have to hunt down the thread where I saw it.
VC Posted October 2, 2020 Posted October 2, 2020 The ground crew thing you can do is to ask them to punch the co-ordinates in for you, so you don't have to, before you start alignment.
