Supersheep Posted November 21, 2012 Posted November 21, 2012 I had repeated disconnects from the server today. Net settings did not affect the stability. Most causes were "Connection Interrupted", usually 1-3 minutes after connecting. I backed up the log files and will look into them tomorrow. Sorry! Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
gregzagk Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Too bad to hear about this. Hope it will be fixed for the next one. Usually changing the internet speed to LAN fixes this problem but that may be something else. Megagoth1702 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Check my thread:http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96565 Try setting proper values to your server. I think it has way more than 10 MBIT, why not use it? Also this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=97861 Raise the "timeout" times so clients don't get kicked off/lose connection as quickly. Supersheep Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Well these settings have NO influence - I tried all of them after the initial two with LAN set. I'm clueless on what caused the problems... Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
Ike4fin Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I had 2 crashes aswell and after that i was unable to join server alltogether :( aka [82nd]Ike
Endy Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Actually Mega from what I read on the forums here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96613 the only settings that worked well was LAN for everyone. Every other setting caused warping and lag on the server it seems so everyone should be set to LAN. Ah yeah, had 3 or 4 crashes yesterday, suddenly the game would freeze and had to kill it. It seems it affected our whole flight at the same time and some blue guys playing FC3 as well.
mwd2 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 (...disconnections even more frequent for players with high-latency connections) Source: http://www.fightercombatsims.net/forum/blogs/red-devil/9-fcs-warfare-stress-test-3.html i have about 3-4 system crashes during the night - my ping was around 102-120. I will test during the week on different server. Supersheep Posted November 22, 2012 Author Posted November 22, 2012 Lan is not really possible for me Endy. It sets the upload to 10 Mb/s, but I only have a fraction of that at my disposal. Anything else seriously angers the other students in my dorm, even if it is for brief periods of time. But as I wrote, for me, it made no difference anyways. Crashes all the time with any settings. Attached are my log files. Beware, there are dublicates in there (.log.old, I haven't sorted them). EDIT: Here are the logs. Hope that helps, Super- The PVC Pipe Joystick Stand How to thread
mwd2 Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 i doesn`t matter, if your internet connection support LAN - it help to stabilize the connection to the server - but don`t ask me why :-) Playing: DCS World Intel i7-13700KF, 64GB DDR5 @5600MHz, RTX 4080 ZOTAC Trinity, WIN 11 64Bit Prof. Squadron "Serious Uglies" / Discord-Server: https://discord.gg/2WccwBh Ghost0815
Endy Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 What mwd2 said. The packets from the client to server are not that big. If you set it to LAN it does not mean you'll kill your dorm internet as there isn't gonna be so much information going both ways anyway, but rather small game packets. Please set the connection to LAN as it just stabilizes the game, we don't know why but it's the only good setting in this game currently. Every other setting causes problems.
Cookie Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 The server itself worked fine for me, but I had a couple of the infamous "DCS has stopped working" reports, and at one time my game completely froze. After that my TrackIR just flat out refused to work, and once that was fixed I wasn´t able to fire up DCS anymore at all. Tried a few times and then gave up, feeling frustrated. Couldn´t really do much last night since no matter where I went, there were enemy fighters all over the place shooting me down instantly. Oh well, better luck next week I hope. - Two miles of road lead nowhere, two miles of runway lead everywhere - Click here for system specs

Oh well, better luck next week I hope. Actually, you were shot down once by an SA-18, once by a fighter and once by a SU-25T, thought you'd want to know :) Fighters were mostly busy with themselves and hardly interfered with what was going on in the area of operations.
Cookie Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 Yeah, I know, I worded it badly. I guess I should say "no matter where I went, I was spiked by some fighter instantly". Actually the last kill by the SU-25 I don´t mind at all, that guy (Jabo2009 ) really deserved his kill. Awesome work sneaking up on me like that! Between missile warning and impact there was maybe a second, before that I didn´t even know he was around. - Two miles of road lead nowhere, two miles of runway lead everywhere - Click here for system specs
gregzagk Posted November 22, 2012 Posted November 22, 2012 I thought after the server's crash that we would have problem flying yesterday but luckily the server was stable after that. Many of us got CTD's during the flight but I think it had to do with some bugs of the modules. For example during a BVR battle with a lot of missiles in the air almost all FC3 users and one SU-25T got CTD at once. At the same time the A-10 and KA-50's were ok and the server continued running... :P We will try to do whatever we can do from our side ( smooth server etc ) and we hope that the problems will be less next time. Thanks again all for the participation and espesially all of you that helped to organise the mission! hreich Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 I see nobody mentioned about not been able to see your server in server list. I had this problem for 3 times in a row (mission 1, 2 and 3). I manged to get in after pressing "new search" button like a maniac 40-50 times. Suddenly the server would appear in server list and i managed to connect. My online squad commander ARIES also reported on this issue. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Pilot from Croatia
Leto Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 @Greg: This seems related to our problem with CTDs If there are AI Aircraft in your mission and they land and shut down you will get CTD'd, ntl.dll, kernal32.dll error or client disconnect. When you try to rejoin, you will usually get an appcrash. Clear out your temp files and .trk,s and rejoin. http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=1612456&postcount=53 Post #53 from this thread http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=96879 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Ariescon.com Intel i7-6700K | 32GB RAM | NVIDIA GTX 1080 | 1TB m.2 SSD | TM Warthog | Logitech G-35 | TrackIR 5 | Windows 10 Ultimate 64bit | 3 monitor setup @5760x1080 | Occulus Rift
Endy Posted November 23, 2012 Posted November 23, 2012 The thing is there are no AI aircraft in the mission, so that's not the cause... Last mission was very similar in terms of unit setup, I have no idea what change causes the crashes now.
