lwalter Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 I'm training on releasing GBU-12 bombs. When the CCRP release cue appears, I start pushing on S3 Weapon Release button, but unlike for "dumb" bombs in CCRP/Auto mode, the GBU-12 bombs are released immediately and not when the release cue is lined up with the flight path marker. Is it a bug? (haven't seen that in the bug sub-forum) or am I doing something wrong here? iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets
VC Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 I don't think it's a bug, it has been like this since release. I think you need to wait until the release cue lines up with the flight path marker and press the button on time yourself. VC =X51= Squadron is recruiting! OK, but that's weird: why does it work differently for "dumb" bombs in mode Auto? With Mk82L in Auto, I can start pushing when the release cue appears and the bomb is released automatically when the release cue lines up with the FPM. iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets
paco2002 Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 They act different, because they are laser guided bombs, so they have some gap to actuate, since they're going to impact on the laser, there is no need to limitate as much as a Mk82 series
Mustang25 Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 The devs have said that this is behaving as intended to allow you to somewhat adjust the impact angle. Release it a little early for a flatter trajectory or later for a more top down angle.
lwalter Posted October 25, 2020 Author Posted October 25, 2020 Thanks all I guess I have to get used to it then. iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets

To be honest I never noticed this because I never used dumb weapons in the JF-17 :D :D :D VC =X51= Squadron is recruiting! lwalter Posted October 30, 2020 Author Posted October 30, 2020 Now, when I release "manually" when release cue lines up with FPM, the bomb impact on the ground is completely off. I activate laser with "MAN". What am I missing now? Is releasing GBU12 on JF17 so much different from the US jets? iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets

What am I missing now? Is releasing GBU12 on JF17 so much different from the US jets? Does it work correctly for you if you leave the laser on auto? If so, your issue is with how you are activating the laser. If you have the laser on manual, make sure you turn it on and leave it on while the bomb is falling, otherwise the bomb won't have a point to track to.

None works for me. I must be missing something, but I can't see what iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, i7 4 GHz, 32 GB RAM, AMD R9 M395X 4 GB | Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog | Cougar MFD | MFG Crosswind | EDTracker Pro | Realteus ForceFeel DCS World | Bf109 | Fw190 A8/D9 | P47 | P51 | Spitfire | I16 | C101 | L39 | F86F | MiG15 | MiG19 | MiG21 | FC3 | A10C | AJS37 | AV8BNA | F5 | F14 | F16 | F/A18 | M2000 | JF17 | Christen Eagle | Yak52 | SA342 | UH1H | Mi8 | Ka50 | Combined Arms | NS430 | Persian Gulf | Normandy | Channel | Syria | NTTR | WWII Assets
[VFA-106] Glacier Posted November 3, 2020 Posted November 3, 2020 Are you masking the target on egress? Is your bomb set to the same laser code as your Tpod?
