P47 pit is the best in vr as the contrast to background allows for best readability for me on all gauges and text.

The P47 lighting is the most natural somehow, the others can look strangely bright for no apparent reason.

Lighting will always an issue in flight sims, it’s very hard (impossible?) to replicate the way our eyes and brain operate. I remember Oleg Maddox posting about these problems back in the old IL2 days, he was a photographer as well as a gamer.

unless you really dive into the matter, most monitor/tv-settings are weird. Either too much contrast or too low, compensated with odd brightness settings - not to mention a vast amount of contra productive "enhancements"...

I think as was stated above. Many bad experiences boil down to bad settings of the display.

The cockpit of the P-47 is dark, that is true, but on the other hand the dials are sharp and the contrast is good. Overall the readability for me is good. (4K LG OLED too)

The main problem is that in real life your eye is constantly adjusting aperture in response to lighting conditions and your brain is adding post processing.
