I created a steerpoint to CCRP a laser guided bomb on a specific target, which was successful.

Using that same steer point I slew the TGP to a different target about 2-3 miles away, TMS up to get a point track and went on to CCRP release on this new target, it seems as though the release point was still on the original target so the bomb missed and did not pick up the laser.

Should I create a whole new steerpoint on targets that are outside the envelope? or perhaps would making the hud soi and moving the target box be a quicker way to reengage a target until the markpoint system is implemented?.

Thanks,

Aurora

Pretty sure this is a bug. I encountered this last night as well. The bomb goes for the original location of the STPT regardless of what the TGP is looking at. You can tell when it's not going to work because if you have to put the TGP in Area track (TMS Right) in order to move it then your bomb's and mavericks will not work correctly. Hopefully this is fixed on the 4th but no info on the viper yet so not holding my breath on that one. It's got something to do with the TGP for sure it's like TMS Up to designate target is ignored or something.

If you can move the TD box near the target then that's sufficient to engage with LGB. The TD box is a reliable indication of SPI in the DCS module currently. Making a new or editing an old steerpoint is a method to get TD box on target when slewing the box (by any sensor: radar TGP or HUD) is impractical.

Snowplow should work as a portable TD box (and thus SPI) that you take with you. It works some times but not all the time. If memory serves you want to have TGP SOI and TMS right to have the best chance for it to work. Every time I slewed HUD SOI in SP it broke the sync. I haven't tried doing it podless. When attempting to use SP I recommend zeroing out all the slews and returning pod to slave at steerpoint before engaging SP.
