GunSlingerAUS Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 Title says it all - I've just downloaded the new open beta, but don't want to open it for fear of losing all my Tomcat keybinds. I've heard this a thing - don't really want to spend hours setting everything up again!!!! I'm running the Virpil MongoosT throttle and base, with VFX grip. MFG Crosswind pedals, and TrackIR 5 pro. Is there anything I need to back up before I open the game? wowbagger Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 It shouldn't overwrite your settings, but instead it now looks for them in a different folder - which is why they are empty post patch. Copy your F-14B and F-14B_RIO controls folders and remove the B from the name of the new copies, so you have two new folders named F-14 and F-14_RIO, and you should be good to go. You can also just rename the originals, but make copies so you have backups. Controls should be found in Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input. 4 no sig
XCNuse Posted November 19, 2020 Posted November 19, 2020 I just went into the keybinds menu, load config, went to the 14B input folder and had it load in the controls that way; didn't have to copy and paste anything. Only odd thing it didn't transfer was toe brakes which was a bit strange, but that was it, all other axis and inputs transferred.
GunSlingerAUS Posted November 19, 2020 Author Posted November 19, 2020 Phew! Thanks guys - setting up controls is arguably the most frustrating barrier to entry in DCS, so it's a relief to see I don't have to do it all over again. 1 Intel 11900K/NVIDIA RTX 3090/32GB DDR4 3666/Z590 Asus Maximus motherboard/2TB Samsung EVO Pro/55" LG C9 120Hz @ 4K/Windows 10/Jotunheim Schiit external headphone amp/Virpil HOTAS + MFG Crosswind pedals
