1st Stage fan sounds when spinning down after shutdown

The shutdown sounds with the F14 update is awesome. I'd like to see the sounds of the 1st stage fan blades "clicking" during shutdown added to the F-16. It's a sound I'm well familiar with having been on the -16 flightline for 20 years.

Do you mean that "ratchet" sound that we implemented in L-39?

If yes, and if you have worked near F16 for a long time, could you help us? because we do not have a single shutdown video from close range (and this sound cannot be heard from a long distance)

So if yes, please answer is it like in my video for L-39? The sound should last the same amount of time? so long?

I can see if I can get you the sound. We no longer have F-16s but we are a repair center for the F110 engine and I can capture the sound of an engine spooling down in the Hush House. And it sounds pretty much the same as the L-39 spool down. And I'd say it's about the right amount of time.

Very cool! Many thanks. Any good audio recording can help a lot. Also, if possible, I ask you to record the startup, without a distortion and preferably with a minimum or without extraneous noise :)

We are installing a F110 in the house for running tomorrow so I'll see about capturing some audio.  Now since it's being run in the house there are no JFS sounds.  To start the engine they will use bleed air from a -60 that is running outside.  But the sounds should be clear.  Not only does the house suppress the sound inside from being extreme outside, it blocks all the sound from the outside.

you will hear the sound stronger at the intake.  The 1st stage fan blades on the F110 fit "loosely" and the blades have halfway up "wings" the midspan shroud.  So when the engine spools down to where there isn't enough centrifugal force to keep them in place, that's when the rattle starts from the midspan's clicking together.  Tomorrow morning I'll be at the hush house for the start up and shut down of an engine.  I'll also see about showing you a pic of the fan, I think there is an uninstalled fan on the floor.  I don't think I've ever really heard the "rattle" on the aft side of the aircraft.  It's a long way down the intake to the engine (I've hopped down quite a few intakes, it's a long ways down.

Thank you very much for this interesting information. I used to think differently. I will fix the sound cone. If it's not difficult for you, send me the recorded sound by mail, please btd@eagle.ru

I just sent you several files, and I was mistaken you can hear the rattle from the back.  It's been a few years since I actually worked the jet its self.

Here is the second test video. Many thanks for your help! We just need to edit the engine so that the rpm does not drop to zero so quickly.

Isn`t this the sound the mounting device for the individual turbine fan blades make when turning very slowly because there is a millimeter of space between the individual blade mounts?

I have watched a documentation about turbines some time ago and the Cessna Citation turbines make the same rattling sound when turning very slow or when turning the N1 stage fan by hand.
