investigating Multiplayer damage sync rudder p51

I don't have a track but just now the rudder was removed from my p51 but this did nothing to effect rudder performance. I landed the plane just fine and could confirm the rudder wasn't visible. I wonder if the fact that the p51 has a steerable tailwheel has any relation to this?
